Sailing trips 2 days
Adventurous and (de-)exciting is a two-day trip with Elise. Hop on and we sail to foreign ports. From Ostend, Dunkirk, Dover, Ramsgate and Breskens are within day’s distance. For each destination, the tide and wind have to cooperate.
Together, we consider which ports we can call at the desired period. We usually keep a “plan B” a fallback plan ready. After all, the idea is to sail our way and not spend 12 hours motoring against wind and tide.
Sometimes a port (e.g. Ramsgate) is not accessible at low tide, which we can usually solve by bringing the departure time forward! Leaving in the twilight with little eyes and having breakfast at sea!
Then it’s best to board the night before, between 8pm and 9pm. After the luggage is unpacked – the introduction and briefing are over by then – early to bed!
Elise is a luxury accommodation! Four spacious double staterooms, each with its own bathroom and shower. The galley (ship’s term for kitchen) is very complete with large cool storage, a full cooker and oven, microwave and much more. Everything is there to prepare appropriate snacks both sailing and in port.
You provide your own food on board but in a port you can of course look for a cosy or well-known restaurant.
We plan the return trip well in advance so that, depending on wind and tide, we will reach Ostend with a relaxing sailing trip.
Your entire trip is always prepared and accompanied by two experienced and licensed skippers. The captain owner even has the qualification suitable for commercial shipping (STCW). On request (e.g. if you did or are preparing an exam yourself), you can get the entire nautical explanation for free!
