didn&#8217;t eat anything, because otherwise you will get sick\u2019<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column ship, in a plane or in a car.\u00a0 It is caused by <strong>conflicting signals your brain receives from your eyes, your balance organ in the inner ear and your other senses.<\/strong>\u00a0 Other senses or sensors include your feet, knees that register the movement of the ship.\u00a0<\/p><p>When you are on a ship, your body senses the movement of the ship, but when you look at the horizon, your eyes may be able to give a steadier view, which adds to the confusion in your brain and can cause nausea.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element vomiting<\/li><li>Fatigue<\/li><li>Sweating<\/li><li>Trembling and shivering<\/li><li>Dizziness<\/li><li>Pale skin<\/li><\/ul><p>Sometimes it passes after a few moments of nausea, sometimes it takes longer.\u00a0 Sometimes you fall asleep, then it passes (temporarily).\u00a0 Often it passes if you sit outside, in the fresh air, in a good place and follow along.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section tip, breathe fresh air, follow along with the movements by actively observing what the skipper and crew are doing.\u00a0 This way, your brain concentrates on what is happening around you!<\/p><p>We know from experience that <strong>you are most at risk inside the ship<\/strong>.\u00a0 Your eyes do not see the waves, the movement coming, often you are inside writing, reading, cooking.\u00a0 Those are risky ventures if you get below deck, they can trigger the disease.\u00a0 Only sleeping (and turning off the sensors) is safe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-66 elementor-top-column elementor-element have a heavy meal beforehand, some sources recommend a light meal, but we also know sailors who don\u2019t eat don\u2019t get sick&#8230;.<\/li><li>Drink plenty of water before and during sailing.<\/li><li>Look around sufficiently.<\/li><li>When lying down, try to lie in line with the ship so you feel less rolling motion.<\/li><li>Always stay in the middle of the ship or aft, these are the most stable places.<\/li><li>Make sure not to sniff the exhaust fumes from the may also include taking appropriate medication.\u00a0 Often, your doctor or pharmacist will recommend something.\u00a0 There is no universal truth, some are helped by a pill, others still get sick.\u00a0 Pills for car sickness or motion sickness are not enough on heavy seas, <strong>specialised pills are available<\/strong>!\u00a0 If you reach for medication, do so in good time, take the pills beforehand!\u00a0 After all, if you feel symptoms of illness, it is too late.<\/p><p><strong>Aggravating factors<\/strong>: alcohol before or during the cruise.\u00a0 Leaving tired.\u00a0 <br \/>Above all, make sure you <strong>don&#8217;t get cold<\/strong>! Dress well in different \u2018layers\u2019.\u00a0 Do that from the start, because once you start shivering it&#8217;s hard to
